When it comes to organized baggage, VIP Industries Limited is the industry standard, not just in Asia but globally. The Company offers a wide selection of luxury, mid-range, and value-priced brands, such as Aristocrat, VIP Skybags, and Carlton Caprese. The Company, founded by Mr. Dilip G. Piramal, operates two ultra-modern manufacturing facilities in India and six more in Bangladesh.

In addition, the Company's 5883 retail locations (including boutiques, department stores, specialty boutiques, discount outlets, military canteens, and online shops) ensure that high-end travelers in every corner of India have quick and simple access to its VIP bags. Currently, the Company focuses on producing and distributing travel bags and related accessories. On January 27, 1968, VIP Industries Limited (then known as Aristo Plast Limited) was formally established. The Company was acquired by Blow Plast Retail Limited and became an owned subsidiary in 1971.

In November of 1993, the business issued rights offering to finance the development, modernization, and rebalancing of its Nashik, Jalgaon, and Sinnar facilities. It added one thousand metric tons to its injection/vacuum molding facility in 1997–1998. The Company's exports grew by 4% in 1999-2000, from Rs.14.91 crores to Rs.15.49 crores. The firm has partnered with Delsey S A France in the technical production of its high-end luggage and business bags.

The Company introduced the VIP brand's polycarbonate 'Verve' series in FY 2015 with the help of TV advertising. The range's unique styling and vibrant color palette were big hits with customers. The business also debuted its Caprese line of women's handbags in the same time frame. More than 500 retail locations sell Caprese, including the Company's shops, franchisee stores, multi-brand dealers, major department stores like Shoppers Stop Lifestyle and Central, and even online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay.

The company's attention, new product introductions, and marketing dollars were directed into the branded bags and luggage market, which witnessed massive growth during FY 2016. While Aristocrat and Alfa give value to customers in hypermarkets and trade channels, the VIP brand continues to be the go-to for Indian family vacations. The 'play Back to Back' commercial for Skybags backpacks, starring Varun Dhawan, became viral in FY 2017. More than that, with Hrithik Roshan as their newest brand ambassador, brand VIP is about to undergo a major facelift.

Soft uprights and Duffle, two of the Company's tried-and-true strongholds, both had healthy increases in sales for the fiscal year 2018. The firm is now targeting the high-end market with its Carlton brand, aimed at the modern business traveler who values quality and is ready to spend more for it. The Ghaziabad facility of the Company had a fire on April 3, 2019.

The Company has one owned Subsidiary in India as of March 31, 2020, and 4 completely owned Subsidiaries in other countries. In its meeting on July 30, 2020, the Board of Directors authorized the Private Placement of Rs. 100,000,000 in listed secured rated redeemable Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs).

The Company has issued Rs 100,000,000 in Listed Redeemable 7.45% Non- Convertible Debentures (NCDs) due on July 30, 2020, and Rs 50,000,000,000 in Listed Redeemable 7.25% NCDs due on September 07, 2020.

The Company has one Indian subsidiary and four foreign subsidiaries as of March 31, 2022. VIP Industries Bangladesh Private Limited will be doing business with Blow Plast Retail Limited in the 2021-22 fiscal year. The Company's fully-owned subsidiaries, VIP Industries BD Manufacturing Private Limited, VIP Luggage BD Private Limited, and VIP Accessories BD Private Limited, remained in operation.
