On May 8th, 1989, in Jaipur, Vaibhav Global Limited (VGL), then known as Vaibhav Gems Limited, was formally established. After receiving its Certificate of Incorporation from the Registrar of Companies Rajasthan on November 29, 2012, the company formally changed its name from Vaibhav Gems Limited to Vaibhav Global Limited. The Company's primary goods are trendy jewelry and other lifestyle merchandise.

It has evolved as a vertically integrated fashion store, with a supply network spanning 30 countries and significant operations in the US, the UK, and most recently, Germany. Established as a gemstone producer, the company used an initial public offering (IPO) in 1996–1997 to fund the creation of a jewelry factory capable of producing high-quality pieces for international sale. Established in 1997 with the first unit located in Adarsh Nagar Jaipur.

In 1999, it opened a new factory in the Export Promotion Industrial Area in Sitapura, Jaipur, exporting its wares. It started making micro-weight gold chains in Italy in 2002. In April 2006, VGL expanded into electronic retail in the UK by launching The Jewellery Channel Ltd. in London, which includes a live TV shopping channel and an e-commerce business.

In light of the model's evident viability, VGL launched a second television shopping channel and electronic commerce business, Liquidation Channel, in Austin, Texas, to serve the American market. VGL swiftly expanded its market share in the United Kingdom and the United States because of its unique vertical business strategy.

Over 30,000,000 UK households get The Jewelry Channel UK, whereas approximately 55,000,000 US households receive Liquidation Channel. One of the leading private equity firms, Nalanda India Fund Limited, invested over $25 million in the company on October 12, 2007. It is the fifteenth time in VGL's history, and the twelfth time in a row, that the company has won the top Export Award in the Colored Gemstone Category. VGL is one of India's biggest exporters of colored gemstones and studded jewelry.

The country's most trusted name in business news, CNBC India, has recognized the firm with the "Emerging India Award 2006" in the Gem and Jewellery industry. For the third year in a row, VGL's dedication to sound corporate policy has earned it a spot on the ICSI National Corporate Governance Award's short list of finalists.

The company has eight direct and seven indirect subsidiaries as of March 31, 2010. The company expanded its product range in 2015 to include non-jewelry categories such as home decor, beauty, and hair care. Through 2017 and beyond, it expanded its tv network's reach through OTA platforms while bolstering its digital sales network via mobile apps, OTT platforms' marketplaces, and social media.

Sonymike's Holdings Limited, a Promoter Group Entity of Vaibhav Global Limited, merged with Brett Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. (previously: Brett Plastics Pvt. Ltd.) on May 29, 2018, under the terms of a Scheme of Arrangement/Merger granted by the Hon'ble National Company Law Tribunal (Mumbai Bench). Brett Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. is now the Holding Company of Vaibhav Global Limited, having raised its ownership from 8334124 Equity Shares (25.56% shareholding/voting capital of the Company) to 18252764 Equity Shares (55.99% shareholding/voting capital of the Company).
