The chemical recovery boiler and the evaporator plant were commissioned during the 1998–1999 fiscal year as part of the ongoing modernization program of the corporation.

During the school year of 1999-2000, the company manufactured a unique document paper to print the Constitution of India. Additionally, the company initiated the commercial production of photocopier paper to market the product under its brand name, "Star Copier."
