On March 17, 1993, as Snowman Frozen Foods Limited, Snowman Logistics Ltd was formally established as a public limited company. Amalgam Foods Limited was the initial firm promoter. Previously known as Brooke Bond (India) Limited, Hindustan Unilever Limited purchased 23.0% of the company's equity share capital in 1997. The Mitsubishi Group purchased a controlling interest in the firm in 2001. Since then, in 2003, Nichirei Corporation has purchased 15% of the firm's equity share capital, which it subsequently allocated to Nichirei Logistics Group Inc. in 2005. In 2006, the company's promoter took control of the business by purchasing 6861000 shares from Amalgam Foods Limited and subscribing to newly issued shares.

Thus, the Promoter of the Company owned 33.34 percent of the total equity shares in the business. In 2010, IFC purchased 20570000 shares of the Company's stock. After that, on March 17, 2011, a new certificate of incorporation was filed with the appropriate authorities, changing the company's name to Snowman Logistics Limited. Companies rebrand so that their names more accurately reflect what they do. NVP bought a total of 17142857 shares of the Company in 2013.

The company's promoter bought 514,250 shares from IFC on August 2, 2014, and 74,000 from Nichirei on March 11, 2014. As of September 30, 2018, the promoters' combined stake in the firm was 40.25 percent. In Fiscal 1998, Snowman began operating cold storage facilities at four (4) different sites, having previously operated as a seller of frozen marine goods. Since then, the company's activities have grown to the point where it offers clients throughout India access to its temperature-controlled shipping services.

The temperature ranges supported by Snowman's storage options span from room temperature to deep freeze. At its temperature-controlled warehouses in Bengaluru, the firm provides blast-freezing services. In and around the cities of Mevalurkuppam (near Chennai) and Visakhapatnam Taloja of Serampore, close to Kolkata (near Mumbai), Ahmedabad, Surat, Palwal (both close to Delhi), and Mubarakpur.

The company's Source to Stores activities include not just storage but also primary and secondary distribution, as well as value-added services, including kitting, labeling, sorting, and bulk breaking. As of 31 March 2016, the firm has 30 temperature-controlled warehouses in 15 different sites with a combined capacity of 98,500 pallets. In addition, as of March 31, 2016, it managed a fleet of more than 300 Reefer trucks.

ISO 14001 (TUV-SUD), ISO 22000 (TUV-SUD), and Foods and Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSA) certifications are in place for the vast majority of its temperature-controlled warehouses. The firm completed its Initial Public Offering of 42006038 Equity Shares at Rs. 10/- each at a premium of Rs. 37/- each Equity Share, totaling Rs. 47/- per Equity Share, in August 2014.

There were a total of 1974283786 rupees worth of issuance. Over sixty times more people applied for shares in the IPO than were available.
