Among Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd.'s subsidiaries is Indiabulls Power Ltd. Developing, building, and running electricity plants in India and elsewhere is the company's primary emphasis. They participate in a wide range of coal-related thermal, hydro, and renewable energy projects and coal mining possibilities. The total installed capacity of the company's five thermal power plants is 6,615 MW.

Amravati Phase-I and Amravati Phase-II in Maharashtra; the Bhaiyathan Thermal Power Project and the Chhattisgarh Power Project in Chhattisgarh; and the Nasik Power Project in Chhattisgarh are all examples of such endeavors. In Arunachal Pradesh, it is working on four hydropower projects of medium scale, with a combined output of 167 MW.

Indiabulls Power Ltd., formerly known as Sophia Power Company Ltd., was formally established on October 8, 2007. The firm was founded to exploit developing markets in India's power industry. On October 25, 2007, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh entered into a memorandum of agreement with Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd for the execution of the 30 MW Tharang Warang Hydro Electric Project, 31 MW Pichang Hydro Electric Project, 46 MW Sepla Hydro Electric Project and 60 MW Phangchung Hydro Electric Project. The government of Maharashtra sent a letter of support for the Amravati Phase I Power Project on December 17, 2007.

The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board sent the corporation a letter of intent for the Bhaiyathan Power Project on April 2, 2008. An MoU was signed between the business and the Government of Jharkhand on June 6, 2008, regarding the development of a 1,320 MW coal-fueled thermal power plant in Jharkhand. A memorandum of understanding was signed with the Madhya Pradesh government on July 30, 2008, to build a 2,640 MW coal-fueled thermal power station in Chhindwara.

The Bhaiyathan Power Project has agreed to sell 65% of its installed capacity to Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board, per the terms of a long-term power purchase agreement signed between Indiabulls CSEB Bhaiyathan Power Ltd., a subsidiary company, and Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board on October 13, 2008.

The Nashik Power Project has a letter of support from the Government of Maharashtra dated November 3, 2008, which the corporation received. To better serve our customers, the firm merged with Indiabulls Power Service Ltd effective April 1, 2008, by a plan of arrangement finalized in December 2008. The firm signed a memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra State Power Distribution Company Ltd on April 29, 2009, to acquire generating capacity and electricity on a long-term basis. The business has provided 1000 MW of production capacity and the bulk sale and supply of electricity from the 2640 MW Amravati Thermal Power Plant to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd for 25 years. Stage I of the project has a capacity of 1,320 MW.

The firm signed a deal with Tata Power Trading Company Ltd on June 5, 2009, to sell them electricity generated by the Amravati Phase I Power Project for up to one thousand megawatts (MW).
