The Rampur Distillery Company (the Company's original name) opened for business in 1943. It has grown into a leading bottler and supplier of bulk spirits to the industry. It produces and sells alcoholic beverages such as IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor), Alcohol Country Liquor, etc., and has become one of the country's most appreciated liquor brands. The firm has established a strong reputation for its goods in foreign markets, and it now sells its wares to more than 85 nations. Radico Khaitan controls 36% of the Rampur (Uttar Pradesh) and 24% of the distilleries in the Aurangabad (Maharashtra) joint venture RNV.

In addition, it has a robust sales and distribution network, with over 75,000 retail and 8,000 on-premise shops in the appropriate categories throughout various regions of India. On January 1, 1997, the Company joined Abhishek Cement Ltd (ACL), and in 1998, with the introduction of 8 PM Whisky, it began developing its brand portfolio. A million cases were sold in the first year, setting a new benchmark for sales by any company, domestic or international, selling products in India. As a result, it became the first alcoholic beverage company's product to be recognized by the Limca Book of Records.

Kerala and Andhra Pradesh both had their first taste of the Old Admiral VSOP brandy in 2002. In 2003-2004, Radico purchased M/s Anab-e-Shahi Wines and Distilleries Pvt Ltd. In January 2004, the Company's state-of-the-art bottling factory, located in the Shree Khatu Shyam Ji Industrial Complex in Sikar, Rajasthan, went into operation. 2004 also introduced the Company's Contessa Rum, Old Admiral Brandy, and 8 PM Select whiskey to the Tamil Nadu market through the Company's bottling partner, Golden Midas Distilleries.
