PVC pipe and fittings manufacturer Prakash Pipes was established in 1981 by its current owner, Mr Ved Prakash Agarwal. Over time, the company established itself as a formidable competitor to other PVC pipe and fittings manufacturers in the Indian market. The capacity has increased from 2400 MTPA to the current level of 55000 MTPA. On June 29, 2017, the Company was established in India as a subsidiary of Prakash Industries Limited. Most of the company's output is sent to local and foreign markets, albeit production takes place in India. The primary purpose of the new corporation is to produce PVC pipes, fittings, and other packaged goods.

After analysing the potential synergies and market, the company decided to branch out into the flexible packaging industry. The Kashipur (Uttarakhand) factory has 60 acres, of which more than half is dedicated to planting. Over 600 dealers and merchants throughout the country stock and sell the Company's wares.

As of the Appointed Date (1 April 2018), Prakash Pipes Limited (the "Resulting Company") is no longer a subsidiary of Prakash Industries Limited as a result of the demerger of the PVC Pipe and Packaging Segment of Prakash Industries Limited into the Resulting Company as ordered by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). PVC pipes & fittings and flexible packaging are the two primary divisions of the Company's plastics industry. PVC Agri pipes, column pipes, plumbing pipes, casing pipes, SWR pipes, garden pipes, and associated fittings are all part of the Company's PVC pipes & fittings product line. These products are used for many purposes, including irrigation, drainage, housing, and sanitation.

Products including food, drink, oil, personal care, and medicine benefit from the high-performance barrier films and laminates produced by the Company's flexible packaging division. Flexible packaging for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and pharmaceuticals is rising. Thus the Company jumped into the market in FY 2018–19.

The company has invested in machinery from India's premier equipment manufacturers to maximise production efficiency and quality. Speciality pouches and other forms of value-added packaging were the main targets. Popular fast-moving consumer goods manufacturers like CG Group, Cornitos, Patanjali, Anmol Cremica, Creambell, and Bambino use company products.

The firm established a foothold in India and expanded into international trade. Manufacturing of printing inks and printing cylinders for blown PE films were added to the company's backwards integration. The Company has begun expanding its PVC Pipe and fittings plant's production capacity. The company expanded its Kashipur, Uttarakhand, factory to produce flexible packaging and laminates.

Consumers' increasing inclination to buy pre-packaged goods, as well as the expansion of important packaging end-markets like food and beverage, personal care, pharmaceuticals, and home improvement, as well as the rise of organised retail and robust demand for exported goods in foreign markets, bode well for the Flexible Packaging industry.
