Lux Industries Limited was established on July 21, 1995, and it is primarily involved in the production and marketing of knitwear. The Company has a wholly-owned subsidiary in India under the name Artimas Fashions Private Limited, which operates in local and international markets. Kolkata (West Bengal), Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), and Ludhiana (Punjab) are home to the Company's production facilities. Within India, it is represented by around 1150 retailers and manufactured by seven separate factories. It was in 1957 when Mr. Girdhari Lal Todi established Biswanath Hosiery Mills, the forerunner of what is now Lux Industries Limited.

Since its inception in 1995, the firm has served the market. The Company has become the market leader in branded underwear in India. The Company subdivided its equity shares in 2017, reducing the price per share from Rs10/- to Rs2/- at a ratio of 5 shares of Rs2/- for every one share of Rs10/-. In FY2018, the Board of Directors recommended a Composite Scheme of Arrangement for the Amalgamation of Transferor Companies, J.M. Hosiery & Co. Limited and Ebell Fashions Private Limited, into the Transferee Company, J.M. Hosiery & Co. Limited.

Corporation of Luxus. The Scheme's Designated Effective Date is April 1, 2018. The Scheme is conditional upon receiving all necessary approvals, including that of the National Company Law Tribunal. The Company acquired 50.87 percent of the shares in Altai Industries Private Limited during 2018–19, becoming Altai Industries Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lux Industries Limited. During the 2018–19 fiscal year, the Company obtained the SEBI's No Objection Certificate (NOC) for its Composite Scheme of Arrangement for the Amalgamation of the Transferor Companies, J.M. Hosiery & Co. Limited and Ebell Fashions Private Limited, into the Transferee Company, Lux Industries Limited. The Scheme was filed with the NCLT on April 1, 2018.

Winter apparel, including hoodies aimed towards the 25-35-year-old demographic, was released by the brand in August 2019. In the 2019-20 fiscal year, Altai Industries Private Limited will no longer be a wholly owned subsidiary of the parent business as of May 14th. In the fiscal year 2020, the firm sold the first ONN tees. Recently, the Company made headlines in India by releasing a perfumed vest under the brand name Lux Cozi. Inferno, the Company's line of winter apparel, has been promoted by actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kartik Aaryan, which has helped boost sales. This event introduced the world to the wildly successful One8 brand, which Indian cricket star Virat Kohli supports. A new range of comfortable T-shirts, Lux Nitro, was introduced. To establish and expand its mid-premium business, Lux Industries founded Artimas Fashions Pvt. Ltd. as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

All items offered under the One8 brand are now produced in separate, specialized factories thanks to the subsidiary.
