Kajaria Ceramics Limited (KCL) is India's eighth-largest and most reputable tile maker. With a total annual capacity of 82.8 MSM, the company operates plants in eight different locations across India. These locations include Sikandrabad (Uttar Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Malutana (Rajasthan), three locations in Morbi (Gujarat), Srikalahasti (Andhra Pradesh), and Vijaywada (Telangana) (Andhra Pradesh). On the 20th of December 1985, Kajaria Ceramics Limited (KCL) was founded. In September 1988, the firm issued shares to the public to open a production facility in Sikandrabad, Uttar Pradesh. Manufacturing of this model began on a commercial scale in August '88.

KCL has been steadily increasing its capacity throughout the years. Since its humble beginnings in 1988 with a modest 12000 tpa (between the units at Sikandrabad and Alwar), the total installed capacity has increased to a whopping 160000 tpa by 1999. Sikandarabad's total capacity was raised to 80000 tpa in 1995. In 1998–99, the business finished a new plant for producing floor and wall tiles in the Village Gailpur in the Alwar District of Rajasthan at Rs.98 crores, bringing the total capacity to 150000 tpa.

Total capacity was 160000 tpa in 2000-01. KCL receives the ISO 9002 certification first among India's ceramic tile manufacturers. KCL has received the coveted Capexil Special Export award (given for the biggest export produced in the year) for four years 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1997. It now ships to destinations in Europe, West Asia, and the SAARC region, and future expansion ambitions include the Americas, Australia, Vietnam, and Singapore. KCL is introducing a new retail organisation approach by introducing faux kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.

The organisation has also invested Rs.25 million in Kajaria Plus Ltd, a ceramics marketing firm. The company's foray into the Australian market began in February 2001, when it invested Rs.10.86 million to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in the country known as M/s Kajaria Ceramics (Aus) Pty Ltd. During the 2003–2004 fiscal year, the firm added 230,0000 square metres to its installed capacity for ceramic tiles, bringing the total to 13,800,000 square metres.

Kajaria Ceramics grew its network of dealers and sub-dealers during the fiscal year that ended on 31 March 2009. The business established seven more Kajaria World stores last year. During the year, the firm began importing sanitary gear of international quality, which it is marketing under the 'Kerovit' brand and displaying at the Kajaria World locations to provide clients with comprehensive bathroom solutions.

During the fiscal year that concluded on March 31, 2010, Kajaria Ceramics expanded its product line, solidifying its reputation as an industry leader in tile design and production. In 2009–10, the company's design team developed over 60 new product ideas, including paper and satin wallpaper finishes for wall tiles. The power line series, which consists of big format tiles with matching floor and wall tile designs, saw the introduction of more than 40 different patterns.

In December 2009, the firm expanded into making wall tiles that mimic the appearance of wood flooring in a new size (15x60 cm). With the opening of its vitrified tile plant in Sikandrabad (Uttar Pradesh) in February 2010, the firm gained access to a new, profitable market segment. The plant has a production capacity of 2.40 MSM. With the help of this plant, the business will be able to manufacture some of its products locally rather than relying on costly imports.
