In 1961, the company began operations by establishing a shock absorber manufacturing unit in Mulund. The Anand group's most successful enterprise is the Gabriel India firm. It was promoted via a technical and financial partnership with Gabriel Company in the United States, which has a share of 20.81%. The firm is an industry leader in the production of ride control equipment like as shock absorbers, front forks, and McPherson struts, among others. The ride control products are manufactured in the company's factories in the cities of Mulund, Nasik, and Pune in the state of Maharashtra; Dewas, in the state of Madhya Pradesh; Hosur, in the state of Tamil Nadu; and Gurgaon, in the state of Haryana.

An additional division of the company, the Engine Bearing division, was established in 1978 at Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh, in collaboration with Federal-Mogul Corp. in the United States. This facility is a fully integrated one, and it produces a full range of bimetal bearings, as well as bushings and thrust washers. The company receives technological support from its collaborators, including Gabriel Ride Control Products in the United States, SOQI/ Yamaha Motor in Japan, Kayaba in Japan, APA-Kayaba Spain, and Arvin Suspension System Italia of Italy for its Ride Control Products, and from Federal Mogul Corporation in the United States for its Engine Bearings products. In order to partially fund its growth, modernization, and diversification plans, the business issued partially convertible debentures on two separate occasions: the first was in May 1991, and the second was in 1996.

With the exception of the facility in Mulund, the whole firm has been awarded ISO accreditation for all of its other facilities. Shock absorbers are among the many products that Gabriel ships to developed markets in the United States, Europe, Australia, and the Asia-Pacific area. The firm began producing and supplying goods to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the state of Uttar Pradesh during the 2002–2003 fiscal year from the new facility at Noida that was acquired as a consequence of the merger of Stallion Shox Limited with the company.
