On March 28, 1981, Finolex Pipes Ltd changed its name to Finolex Industries Ltd. The company provides various PVC pipes and fittings that may be used in agricultural plumbing and sanitation. Its state-of-the-art plants in Maharashtra and Gujarat can crank out 370000 MT of pipes and fittings annually and another 272000 MT of PVC resin. More than 900 dealers and sub-dealers help it maintain a solid national footprint consisting of over 21 thousand retail shops.

The Company's current operations include producing PVC Pipes & Fittings, PVC Resin, and Electricity. The company is India's only vertically integrated producer of PVC pipes and fittings. It has partnered technically with UHDE Germany to license Hoechst's PVC resin production technology and provide basic engineering. The Ratnagiri, Maharashtra facility for producing PVC extruded rigid pipes was officially opened in 1999–2000.

During the year, they also ordered a second EDC cracker. They sold their two Rs 10 each shares in Finolex Polymers Ltd. during the 2001-02 fiscal year. As a result, Finolex Polymers Ltd is no longer a part of the parent firm. In 2003–2004, the firm signed the License and Technical Service Agreement with Oxy Vinyl USA. For the VCM plant's preliminary engineering and layout, they contracted with Aker Kvaerner Netherlands and finalized a technical agreement. They also contracted with Udhe India Ltd. to provide detailed engineering, site supervision, procurement management, etc., for the PVC Plant. The business and I M Skaugen ASA of Norway, agreed to collaborate on the feasibility and cost-benefit analysis of an LNG supply chain for India in 2005–06. Production of PVC resin began as part of a PVC expansion project in February 2006.

In 2006–07, the firm increased its PVC Pipes production capacity from 65,000 metric tons (MT) to 85,000 MT. They also bought 20 acres of property in Urse to construct a factory to make PVC pipes. The new PVC pipe manufacturing factory in Urse went live in May 2008, bringing the annualized production capacity to 100000 MT.

Finolex Industries started up a new PVC pipes factory at Masar, Vadodara, with an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons during the 2012-13 fiscal year (tpa). In 2018, the company's total annual production capacity for PVC pipes and fittings surpassed 2 lakh tpa. Finolex Industries doubled production at its PVC pipes facility in Masar Vadodara, from 30,000 to 50,000 metric tons per year, during the 2013–14 fiscal year. The firm began using its own generated electricity at its Pune facility during the year in question. Finolex Industries stated on November 6th, 2014, that it will invest an extra Rs 90 crore over three years to expand its PVC pipes and fittings manufacturing capacity by around 40% to 3.2 lakh tonnes.

Finolex Industries increased its total installed capacity of pipes and fittings by 30000 MT during the 2015-16 fiscal year, bringing the total to 2.8 lakh MTPA across all three factories.
