The Oberoi Group's main firm, EIH Ltd, has one of India's most extensive hotel networks. The firm offers travel and trip packages and management contracts for high-end hotels and restaurants. Airline catering, airport restaurant management, automobile rental, and project management are just some of the services they provide. The Oberoi and Trident hotels are under their management. Oberoi hotels are run as five-star establishments, whereas Trident hotels are run as luxury establishments.

The firm owns and operates the following hotels: The Oberoi in Mumbai, The Oberoi in Udaivilas in Udaipur, The Oberoi in New Delhi, The Oberoi in Bangalore, The Oberoi in Grand Kolkata, The Oberoi in Vanyavilas in Ranthambhore, The Trident in Nariman Point and Trident in Bandra Kurla in Mumbai. The firm owns and operates the Motor Vrinda Cochin (a high-end cruise liner) and the Oberoi Airport Services in Mumbai.

ndia's capital and southernmost city, Kolkata, Business jet charters, and chauffeured luxury vehicles in Cochin and Bangalore. On May 26, 1949, East India Hotels Ltd. was established as a public limited company under the name EIH Ltd.

Initially, the company's main focus was as lessee and operator of Srinagar's Oberoi Palace Hotel. The first time the company's equity shares appeared on BSE was in 1956. The Oberoi New Delhi, formerly known as The Oberoi Intercontinental, opened in 1965. Five hotels, including The Oberoi Grand in Kolkata, The Maidens Hotel in Delhi, and The Oberoi Cecil in Shimla, were purchased when the firm merged with The Associated Hotels of India Ltd and Hotels (1938) Pvt Ltd on September 9, 1968.

The firm first opened for business in 1973 at the Oberoi Towers in Mumbai, and since then, has branched out to include the 'Trident' brand of hotels, which cater to business and leisure travelers on a budget. The firm first entered the airport services market in 1986, when it signed a contract with the International Airport's Authority to manage the food and beverage outlets in both the domestic and international terminals at Mumbai's airports for ten years.

The company name was changed from East India Hotels Ltd in November 1996 to its current form, EIH Ltd. The Oberoi Lombok, a five-star resort in Indonesia, first opened its doors to the public in January 1997. In April 1997, the doors of the Himalayan resort were first opened to the public. In 2001–2002, Mumtaz Hotel Ltd. acquired the Amarvilas, an Oberoi Resort in Agra, and began operating as the hotel's subsidiary.

During the year, the business also opened Vanyavilas, an Oberoi Resort in Ranthambhore. After purchasing the aircraft catering business from EIH Associated Hotels Ltd. in 2002–03, the firm opened its doors in Chennai. On August 15, 2002, the hotel called Udaivilas opened for business in Udaipur. Effective October 1, 2003, the business rebranded its 'Vilas' hotels as The Oberoi Rajvilas, The Oberoi Amarvilas, and The Oberoi Udaivilas. The Vilas hotels were rebranded as Oberoi to dispel the public's impression that they were part of a different chain.

Motor Vessel Vrinda, a luxury Crusier, was introduced to the backwaters of Kerala in November 2003. The firm and Hilton International arranged in March 2004 for the Trident hotels in India to use a common name and logo. There was a rebranding of hotels in India; the Oberoi Towers in Mumbai became the Hilton Towers, while the Trident hotels in Jaipur, Udaipur, and Agra became the Hilton Hotels.

Chennai As of April 1, 2004, the Trident Hilton brand was officially introduced at the previously named Cochin, Bhubaneshwar, and Gurgaon hotels. The firm launched two new restaurants, three-sixty degree, and Travertino, at The Oberoi New Delhi in 2004–2005. Oberoi Mumbai also has a brand new restaurant called Tiffin.

In 2005–2006, it launched its Flight Service Operations in Bangalore to meet the growing demand for flights to the city. Effective April 1, 2006, the business handed over the management of the Oberoi Cecil in Shimla and the Trident Hilton in Bhubaneshwar to EIH Associated Hotels Ltd. In the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2007, the firm merged with its fully-owned subsidiary, Rajgarh Palace Hotel and Resorts Ltd. At the 2007 World Travel Awards, a survey of travel agents found that Oberoi Hotels & Resorts was the best luxury hotel chain in Asia. Do you want to know about the EIH Shares?
