Synthetic yarn is the primary product that Century Enka Limited (CEL), an organization with its headquarters in India, produces. The B.K. Birla and the Accordis group, based in the Netherlands, have collaborated to form the company. CEL is dedicated to the principles of quality, innovation, and ethical business practices for the sake of achieving total client satisfaction. Century Enka Ltd. in Pune, Konkan Synthetic Fibers in Mahad Maharashtra, and Rajashree Polyfil in Bharuch Gujarat were the company's three manufacturing facilities.

These facilities produced nylon and polyester filament yarns (textile grade), polyester filament yarns (POY), jumbo beams specialty yarns, industrial / fiber grade chips, industrial yarns, and tire cord fabrics. 1965 was the year when the business was officially established as a corporation. 1967 was the year when the corporation transitioned into a public limited company structure. The firm started manufacturing polyester industrial yarn in a commercial setting in the 1993-1994 school year.

In 2000 and 2001, the corporation raised the number of nylon chips stored in their installed capacity. Nylon Filament Yarn Polyester Chips and Polyester Filament Yarn from 92600 MT to 110000 MT. In addition, in the same year, it raised its installed capacity of Nylon Industrial Yarn, Nylon Tyre Cord Fabric, and Polyester Industrial Yarn from 11100 MT to 12000. During the school year of 2001-2002, the business had two new draw warpers placed in Mahad, both operating to the company's satisfaction.

The company finished the first phase of its modernization in 2002-2003, which involved the replacement of old machinery in the Nylon Tyre Cord conversion plant. In the same year, the company also finished installing dosing equipment on spinning machines to achieve higher production by approximately 15% and draw warping machines to produce flat yarn chip manufacturing capacity into POY capacity.

Adopting a new polymer allowed the firm to boost the speed of the POY spinning machines located at the Rajashree Polyfil Bharuch facility during the year 2003-2004. During 2004-2005, the firm commissioned the capacity expansion of Polyester partly Oriented Yarn (POY). During the same year, the company boosted the capacity of Nylon Polymerisation by 146,000 M.T. Per annum, and the company also commissioned in new completely Drawn Yarn (FDY).

During the year, the corporation had two diesel generating sets, each of 6 MW capacity and one 4 MW capacity, installed at Pune and Bhuruch facilities for captive power production. The corporate capacity expansion of polyester POY at an investment of Rs 100 crores at the Rajashree Polyfil Bharuch site took place during 2005-2006, with the overall polyester POY capacity at the Bharuch site has increased from 37900 tonnes per year to 81000 tonnes per annum.

The firm completed the increase of its NTCF capacity to 8000 M.T per year during the 2006-2007 fiscal year.

During the fiscal year 2007-2008, the company started operations at its new Nylon Tyre cord Fabric (NTCF) plant at the Bharuch site. In the same year, the company continued to emphasize modernization and debottlenecking of the plant, which resulted in an improvement in plant efficiency and the quality of its products, allowing them to compete with those produced at the most advanced technology plant.
