On March 15, 2005, a special resolution was approved to convert the firm to a public limited company and change its name to Bajaj Healthcare Limited.

The Registrar of Companies, Mumbai, issued the firm a new certificate of formation on March 31, 2005, reflecting the name change. In 1993, the business opened an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) production plant in Tarapur, a suburb of Mumbai. It has grown substantially over the years and runs five separate factories producing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), intermediates, and finished pharmaceutical products (FPPs).

The firm now produces formulations under a loan license for GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK) and USV (USV). In addition to its marketing partnership with TTK Healthcare, Bajaj Medicare has its section dedicated to the production and distribution of the formulas used in its brand names. Antibiotics, anti-arrhythmia, anti-convulsants, anti-diabetes, anti-platelets, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), vitamins and their derivatives, anti-hypertensive, anti-malarial, cholinesterase inhibitors, etc. are only some of the therapeutic areas covered by the FDFs it produces.

The business plans to sell APIs and FDFs manufactured at its API facilities as branded generics in local and foreign markets.
