We are proud to have Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Ltd as part of the TACO family of businesses. Manufacturer of sheet metal stampings, welded assemblies, and modules for the automobile sector is the primary focus of this firm. Four of its factories may be found in the Indian cities of Bhosari, Chakan, Halol, and Pantnagar (Uttarakhand).

Structural Panels and Skin Panels for the Vehicle Body (BIW), Modules and Aggregates, Chassis sub-assemblies (Underbody), and Oil Sumps and Fuel tanks make up the bulk of the company's product mix. Tata Motors Ltd, General Motors India Pvt Ltd, Fiat India Automobiles Ltd, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, and John Deere Equipment Pvt Ltd are just a few of the famous automakers that have purchased their products. Products are sent to Ford Motor Company Ltd. as well (U.K.).

Established in March 1990 as JBM Tools Ltd, the company later changed its name to Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Ltd. SK Arya Group. Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation was the business's original backer. Production at their Faridabad facility, where they make dies, moulds, and tools for the auto industry's Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), began in October 1990.

With the launch of the 3500 tpa Sheet Metal Components Manufacturing Project in January 1994, the firm began producing these products. Their first IPO was released in March 1994, and by May that year, their stock was trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The firm established a new factory in Bhosari, India, in December 1995. The Halol facility began producing goods in February 1997.

Companies from the Tata Group, including Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd (TACO) and Tata Industries Ltd (TIL), formed a 50:50 Joint Venture with the company that was then its promoter, SKA, in July 1997. The business established JBM Sung Woo Pvt Ltd in Chennai as a joint venture with Sung Woo Metal Co Ltd of South Korea and Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan in August 1997.

The firm and Krupp Camford Ltd. of the United Kingdom signed a joint venture agreement in December 1997 to launch Krupp JBM Pvt. Ltd. in the Chennai area. The firm opened its new Chakan factory to the public in 1998. The company's Faridabad operation was sold to Precious Estates Pvt Ltd in June 2001 as part of a plan of arrangement.

When TACO and TIL acquired SKA's stake in the business in April 2002, their combined ownership percentage jumped to 81.35 per cent. The business was formerly known as JBM Tools Ltd but changed names to Automotive Stampings and Assemblies Ltd on August 1, 2003. In 2004, TIL gave TACO all of its shares (excluding 100). Furthermore, both the Bhosari and Chakan facilities were awarded ISO 9001 certification.

To use the technical knowledge of the Spanish business Gestamp, the company engaged in a share purchase agreement with Gestamp Servicios, S.L., in February 2007. After obtaining a 37.49% share from TACO and 0.01% from the public in an open offer in August 2007, Gestamp Servicios, S.L. became a joint promoter of the firm. The business began operations at its new 17,000 tpa sheet metal component manufacturing facility in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, in May 2008.

TIL liquidated its remaining 100 shares in the company on the open market on January 27, 2010. Under the terms of a share purchase agreement signed on December 10, 2010, TACO acquired 100% of Gestamp Servicios, S. L.'s shares in the company, making Gestamp no longer one of the company's promoters and instead a subsidiary of TACO.

With an expected completion date of the end of 2011, the company has begun the second phase of the expansion project at the Pantnagar Plant for the small 0.5-ton commercial goods and passenger carrier programme, which includes automation. To meet the needs of a new Customer program, the company is also planning to invest around Rs 7.4 crore in expanding its Halol Plant. Before March 2012, completion of the same is anticipated.
