Atul Auto was first established as a private limited company in June of 1986. In August of 1994, the business was reorganized as a public limited company. Jayantibhai J. Chandra was the one who spearheaded the campaign. In collaboration with Atul J. Chandra and Mahendra J. Patel. With the help of the Gujarat State Financial Corporation (GSFC), the firm established its factory at Shaper, which is located in the Rajkot district of Gujarat.

July of 1992 marked the beginning of manufacturing for commercial purposes. Diesel three-wheelers such as 6-seater auto rickshaws, pick-up vans for the local transportation of commodities, and passenger car chassis are some of the products that are manufactured by the company. These automobiles are sold under the Khushbu brand name in the marketplace. The company undertook a project in 1995-1996 to create additional facilities for the expansion of its three wheelers capacity from 1080 to 3680 vehicles per annum. In addition, the company established manufacturing facilities for diesel operated motorcycles at its existing plant in Rajkot, with a capacity of 3500 cars per annum. It was decided to raise 536.25 million rupees via a public offering.

In 1997–1998, the business expanded its production of FUZI motorbikes to 3,500 units. During the 1999-2000 school year, the Automobile Research Association of India approved a vehicle manufactured by Khushbu RTVG that adhered to EURO II emission standards. As a consequence of Atul Auto ltd's acquisition of an additional 220500 equity shares in M/s Khushbu Auto Finance Pvt Ltd during the 2001-2002 fiscal year, the firm now holds a total of 51% of the equity share capital in the respective company.
