Over 68 native enzymes and probiotics have been used to create 400 unique items that the company is working to perfect, manufacture, and sell.

It operates factories in India, Germany, and the United States, in addition to R&D facilities there. In accordance with the rules of the Companies Act 1956, Advanced Enzyme Technologies Limited (AETL) was founded as "Advanced Biochemicals Private Limited" in Maharashtra on March 15, 1989.

The Company was transformed into a Public Limited Company. Its name was changed to Advanced Biochemicals Limited by a Special Resolution voted by the Company's Shareholders at the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting held on April 21, 1992. The new name was officially adopted on May 28, 1992, when the Registrar of Companies in Maharashtra issued a new Certificate of Incorporation. The company's name was changed from Advanced Biochemicals Limited to Advanced Enzyme Technologies Limited per a resolution voted at an Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders on August 8, 2005.

On August 19, 2005, the Registrar of Companies in Maharashtra, Mumbai, issued a new Certificate of Incorporation with the updated name. The firm established a local foothold in the United States with the 2011 acquisition of Cal-India Foods International. To strengthen its foothold in the American market, the firm merged with Advanced Supplementary Technologies Corporation in 2012.

The IPO of Advanced Enzyme Technologies Limited consisted of a new issue of 560405 Equity shares and an Offer for Sale of 4034470 Equity shares by Selling Shareholders, for a total of 4594875 Equity shares of Rs 10 each at an issue price of Rs 896 per Equity Share (Rs 810 per Equity share for eligible employees). Investors may subscribe to the IPO from July 20-22, 2016. Overall, 82,06% of the available slots were taken up by interested parties in the offer.

In comparison to the initial public offering price of Rs 896 per share, the opening market price of Advanced Enzyme Technologies Limited's equity shares on the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and the BSE Limited (BSE) was Rs 1210 on both the exchanges on 1 August 2016.

At an average price of Rs 35 per share for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2017, Advanced Enzyme Technologies Limited paid a total of Rs 50.08 crore to buy 1.43 crore equity shares in JC Biotech Private Limited (JCB), representing 70% of JCB's paid-up share capital. This resulted in JCB becoming a subsidiary as of December 1, 2016. On May 4, 2017, the firm's shareholders voted through a postal ballot to accept a Stock Split that would reduce the value of each share of stock in the business from $10 to $2 and would also change the Capital Clause of the Memorandum of Association.

The Board has set May 26, 2017, as the "Record Date" for determining the eligible shareholders to receive the aforementioned subdivided equity shares. As a result, stockholders were given five (5) subdivided equity shares of 2 each in exchange for one (1) equity share of 10. In a transaction finalised on July 3, 2017, Advanced Enzyme Technologies acquired 2,000,00 equity shares of MYR 1 (Malaysian Ringgit) each of AEM, representing 80% of AEM's paid-up share capital.

In addition, on 13 March 2018, the firm subscribed to a right issue of 150,000 Equity Shares at MYR 1 per share of AEM for a total investment of MYR 150000 (equal to 26,025,000).
